Yomah – Session 3

Today at camp we learned about the Kibbutzim in Israel and built some using LEGO! In Art we worked on building baskets out of yarn, and made catapults in unit time! Lastly we made a splash at the pool!

Things That Go

Today at camp we learned about cars, and three different kinds of engines! We got to make our own cars out of cardboard and wooden dowels and tested them out!

 

Off Broadway

Today at camp we learned the song Bigger Isn’t Better and some new dance moves to go with it, as well as reviewing our singing and choreography for yesterday’s song too! We also made the programs for our show on Friday!

Things that Go

Today at camp we went to the Hiller Aviation Museum! We got to look at cool old planes and tour a Boeing and a jet. We watched the airplanes land at the airport and even played on the imagination playground!

Today at camp we learned about Georgia O’Keefe! Then in unit time we played Gaga and ran basketball drills! We got to know each other by playing Heads Up and Charades!

Things That Go

Today at camp we introduced how planes fly and what forces act on the plane while it’s in flight! Then we got to design and construct our own paper airplanes with our own decorations and colors! We tested each plane to see how long they would fly for and recorded the data before improving our design! Finally, we learned about helicopters and made paper propellers!

Off Broadway

Today we learned the song Orange-Colored Sky and the choreography that goes with it! We also learned ways to focus like playing red light/green light! Then we started to make the set and the script for our performance on Friday!

Yomah – Session 3

Today at camp we talked about our hopes and dreams in Israeli/Jewish time and learned about yesterday’s Jewish holiday, Tisha B’Av! Then in unit time we learned about butterflies by making stained-glass butterflies out of tissue paper. We also learned about mining and geology using a chocolate chip cookie! Lastly, we took a dip in the pool and made self portraits in Art!

 

It’s All Experimental

Today at camp, we had a demo with fire. We learned what the word flammable means, and how to properly respond to a fire, how to respect fire, and how it needs oxygen! We also got to make slime!

 

Yomah – Session 2

Today we woke up from our sleepover and had waffles and eggs! We learned about diversity in unit time through an art project. We used different objects in art to see how they could be used to paint. We also had a special guest who brought a bunch of amazing animals! Lastly, we took a dip in the pool.
