Today at camp we made kung pao tofu! We started by chopping zucchini and bell pepper. We made a sauce using soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch along with garlic and ginger that we minced ourselves!

Today at camp we made sweet empanadas. We first talked about the apple mixture that makes the filling. It was made of apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and water! Then we made dough using flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter! We rolled out the dough, used a pastry cutter to cut the dough into a circle, and then placed filling on top! We folded over the filled dough and used a fork to seal the empanada closed!

Today at camp we made leek and potato gallettes! We started out by making dough balls out of sugar, salt, flour, and butter. We spread the leek, cheese, and potato filling onto the flattened dough and the folded the dough in before putting the finished gallettes in the oven for baking!

Today at camp we learned how to properly hold a knife for safe cutting! We pulled leaves off the stems of cilantro and mint to put in the meal we made, which was vegetable curry with a side of cucumber!
