Today we used loose parts such as cinnamon sticks and small pine cones to create long structures such as trees. We discussed other shapes we could create with the cinnamon sticks, things such as houses. We painted with water colors and played and filled pots with water beads. We celebrated Havdalah together, a ceremony that marks the end of Shabbat and the  beginning of the new week. The ceremony of Havdalah includes smelling spices such as cinnamon sticks and lighting a candle among other things.

We began our day by building with cardboard. Each piece of cardboard had a slit and the children had to connect the  cardboard pieces by placing one cardboard piece inside the other cardboard piece. We then made the color green together by mixing yellow and blue colors in a big zip lock bag. The children seemed more interested in playing and painting with q tips so we grabbed some paper and painted in green.

Karate

Today at camp we decorated our own belts and learned about the different colored belts and what they symbolize! We also learned some starting poses and did some fun warmups!
