Today on our first day of session 3 we had free play and used loose items with play dough.  Then we did an art project where we decorated our names.

Kindercamp – Session 3

Today at camp we made some new friends! We got to know our new campers and practice driving skills using hula hoops as cars. In Art we learned about pointillism and used it to write our names! In Science we learned how mining affects the environment, and we did an experiment mining with chocolate-chip cookies!

Things That Go

Today at camp we introduced how planes fly and what forces act on the plane while it’s in flight! Then we got to design and construct our own paper airplanes with our own decorations and colors! We tested each plane to see how long they would fly for and recorded the data before improving our design! Finally, we learned about helicopters and made paper propellers!

Wizards and Wands

Today at camp we started our magical journey by making our own wands! Then we learned some new spells and wand motions, along with a Divination class on reading tea leaves! We also made our Hogwarts acceptance letters and were Sorted into our houses!

Digital Comic Books

Today at camp we began by storyboarding our first comic! We then added more details and color and eventually presented our storyboards to the group! After lunch we started to use the digital software Comic Life 2, learning how to import pictures of our drawings, add speech bubbles, and much more!

Off Broadway

Today we learned the song Orange-Colored Sky and the choreography that goes with it! We also learned ways to focus like playing red light/green light! Then we started to make the set and the script for our performance on Friday!

B’Yachad – Session 3

Today at camp we learned about energy and mining! We practiced by mining the chocolate chips out of a cookie and then recording the results! We learned each others’ names by playing games, and then in Sports we played Capture the Flag! We also went for a nice swim in the afternoon!

Yomah – Session 3

Today at camp we talked about our hopes and dreams in Israeli/Jewish time and learned about yesterday’s Jewish holiday, Tisha B’Av! Then in unit time we learned about butterflies by making stained-glass butterflies out of tissue paper. We also learned about mining and geology using a chocolate chip cookie! Lastly, we took a dip in the pool and made self portraits in Art!

 

Preschool Yeladim Shachor 7-23

Happy Monday! Today we welcomed both new and returning friends to the third session of camp.   We spent time on the play yard building with big wood blocks, splashing in the water table and pretending to go camping.  After the play yard, we went swimming!

Today we introduced ourselves to some new friends for session 3. We also learned a little about gravity and had fun watching gravity in action with dropper painting.
