Today we began building an ocean on the wall. We learned about the ocean and how we can care for it. We enjoyed time on the play yard and bike yard as well as some free play time in the class room. In PE with Teacher Mark we had a lot of fun playing ocean games and pretending to be fish and sharks. Not pictured – we also had a dance party with the dancing scarves and brainstormed what we know about the ocean.
Today was our first day of swimming! We had so much fun splashing around and learning how to float on our backs. Then we read a story and discussed how fun our swim experience was before lunch.
Today we had so much fun at swimming! We also enjoyed playing with moon sand in the sensory bin.
We started our day with a big splash in the pool! The swim instructors did step by step introduction for the kids. They stared with their chin to the water and side to side and slowly took them down the lanes, stomach floats, back floats, kicks and the last 5 minutes was free play with water toys. They also painted their flower pots and make some groovy play dough art with beading and wire.
We had our first PE class with Teacher Mark! We all sat on the balance beam “boat” and rowed our boat merrily down the stream. We also swam like Jonah to get away from the whale. Captain Sawyer told the class when to swim and when to swim back to the boat to get away from the Teacher Mark Shark. The children with their feet touching the waves went to the “shark house” for a “scoop of ice cream”. We had a great time exercising in PE!
Today we had our first swim day! It was very successful and we learned some new skills.
We had an active day. During the play yard we played with the bars, balls, sandbox, and sensory bottles. We had our first swim day of the summer!
Today at camp we finished making our tree medallions with beads. We had enjoyed the sunshine during yard time and then played games and had circle time before lunch.
Today we had a lot of fun with water play outside and inside the classroom. We got to mix different color water and see what happened. We also played with slime!
Today we started our day with singing songs as we walked to the playground. The children watered the fruits and vegetables at the Justice Garden. We also walked over to the playground by the pool and than made our way back to the classroom. We also made wood chip necklaces with colorful designs!
